FREEDOM LEATHER

Freedom leather is a premium vegetable-tanned leather produced by Conceria Walpier, a renowned tannery located in Tuscany, Italy, and certified by the Consorzio Vera Pelle Italiana Conciata al Vegetale.
Infused deeply with oil, tallow, and natural wax, Freedom leather features a distinctive pull-up effect and develops a rich patina over time. When folded or bent, the leather lightens in color and naturally returns to its original tone, offering a dramatic aging process even with short-term use.
Similar to bridle leather, Freedom may develop a bloom on the surface if left unused for a period of time. This is a natural occurrence due to the wax and tallow content, and it can be easily removed by rubbing it with your hand.
With its pronounced pull-up effect and rapid patina development, Freedom leather evolves beautifully, gaining character as it ages.
VERA PELLE CONSORTIUM

The Vera Pelle Consortium (Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather Association) Founded in 1994, this Italian association includes traditional leather tanneries from Tuscany that follow environmentally friendly and ethical production practices.
Core Principles of the Vera Pelle Consortium:
- Only Plant-Based Tanning – Leathers are tanned using natural tannins from trees and plants.
- No Harmful Chemicals – The process avoids toxic substances that can harm people or the environment.
- Animal Byproducts Only – Leather is made from hides left over from the meat industry; animals are never raised or killed just for leather.
- Time-Honored Craftsmanship – Leather is produced slowly and carefully using traditional methods.
- Strict Quality Standards – All leather is checked to ensure premium quality.
- Fair Labor and Ethics – Tanneries must provide safe working conditions and treat workers fairly.
This ensures the leather is not only natural and beautiful, but also sustainable and responsibly made.
